                        THE BOOK RUTH

The Book of Ruth describes a woman who even though not an Israelite, trusted the God of her husband and mother-in-law who were Israelites and stayed with her mother-in-jaw after her husband died. She is related to Jesus.

DAY 78  NAOMI AND RUTH

Bible Passage:  Ruth 1:1-17

Ruth was certainly different from Oprah. Even though both of them married Naomi’s sons who died. Oprah went back to her people but Ruth remained with her mother-in-law. Have you been to a wedding before? If you have, you probably heard the bride (wife) and the bridegroom (husband) saying they will stay with each other until death parts them. Ruth even went beyond this, because when her husband died, she did not go back to her people but stayed to look after her husband’s mother. This was a rare show of love to Naomi who was very sad at the time.
