There are different types of offerings. The most common one today is money. That saved us from the trouble of looking for the right thing to offer for the various types of offerings including burnt offering, grain offering, fellowship offering, sin offering etc. The methods for the offerings was stated clearly by God but Nadab  and Abihu (Aaron’s sons) died because they did not obey the rules. Today, we are very lucky because we only need to place our offerings in the offering bag or transfer funds to the church’s bank account. Do you put yours in the offertory bag/transfer funds to the church or do you still use it to buy snacks like groundnuts (peanuts), biscuits, sweets/chocolate, ice cream or for other things you love or consider more important?

 TODAY’S ACTION

If you are still in the habit of using your offering for other things, you have another opportunity to confess to God and to change. If you have stopped the habit or never did it thank God for helping you to do the right thing. Write a list of different animals and things that Israelites used as offerings.
