Paul and his co-workers, even though they were evangelists, worked hard to feed themselves. They were not lazy and did not expect the people to feed them. That does not mean that our full time pastors and evangelists should not be paid. Some of them may have part-time jobs but most cannot do another work to earn a salary because the work of pastoring takes a lot of time and energy. Some still live on donations but devote all their time to church work or evangelism. Paul's reference to that Proverb "Anyone who refuses to work should not eat" is a reminder for us not to be lazy. Did you do all the duties assigned to you yesterday?

If you did not do all your duties yesterday, you can complete them today. Pray for willingness to do your duties to the best of your ability. It is a sin to be lazy.
