THE BOOK OF LUKE

The book of Luke gives details about the birth of John the Baptist and Jesus.  It is the only book that tells about the angel’s that appeared to Mary, the angels song, the shepherd's visit, Jesus in the temple as a little boy, the Good Samaritan and the lost son.

Bible Passage -  Luke 1:5-25

Zechariah, a priest was the one whom the angel told about the birth of John.  He and his wife Elizabeth were already old and Zechariah did not believe.  Remember how Sarah also did not believe that she and Abraham, who was also very old could still have a child?

Angel Gabriel told Zechariah certain things that the child, to be named John must not do.  Do you remember that Samson was also told not to do them.  I wonder why some Christians replace the Holy Spirit with alcohol if these two great men of God were warned never to drink it.

TODAY'S ACTION

You are still young, so this is the right time to decide not to abuse alcohol.  If God warned great and powerful men not to take it, so that they will be filled with the Holy Spirit, then it is better not take it.  Pray that as you grow older, you will always be filled with the Spirit of God and not with alcohol.
