 JESUS COMMANDS THE WINDS AND WAVES

Bible Passage Mat 8:23-27 (also in Mark 4:35-41 and Luke 8:22-25)

One of the many wonders that Jesus did was to speak to the winds and waves to stop. A storm is a very strong wind blowing on water, making it go up in waves. Sometimes it is the wind that comes with rain. It is strong like the one that broke the foolish man’s house in our reading of the day before yesterday. Jesus talked about “faith”. We will learn more about faith in future passages.

TODAY’S ACTION

Take a bowl of water and blow air from your mouth on it. If you know how to make a paper boat, put it on the water and blow. Do you see waves on the water and the boat going in different directions? Imagine then a strong wind blowing on very large water like the sea or ocean and a ship being blown here and there!
