MALACHI

This book is another record on the messages of a prophet. Prophet Malachi lived in Jerusalem after the temple was rebuilt. He noticed that the people did not worship God the way they should and he gave warnings to them and to the priests.

DAY 160. HOW PEOPLE CHEAT GOD

Bible Passage: Malachi 2:10-16, 3:6-10

Many people nowadays behave just as the people in Malachi's time did. They break (do not keep) their promises to people and cheat God by not paying their thithes. A tithe is at least one-tenth of a person's salary, or harvest, profit or gift. When anyone, for example your uncle or aunty gives you money as a gift, you should give one-tenth of it or more to God. The money will be used in doing things for God's work. Do you give a tenth of your money to God? You are not too young to do so. Next time someone gives you money, give a tenth of it to God in addition to your normal offering.

TODAY'S ACTION

If you have a small (piggy) bank or bank account No. of your own, and you have never tithed the money in it, count/check how much you have today, and take a tenth of it to church on Sunday. If your church uses tithing cards, you can start one of your own. If only mobile banking is done send or ask one of your parents or an older member of the family to help send it to the church account.
