THE BIRTH OF JESUS CHRIST

Bible Passage: Matt. 1:18-24 (also in Luke 2:1-7)

Mary was the mother of Jesus, the son of God. The Holy Spirit of God made Mary pregnant and she gave birth to Jesus, whom they also called "Emmanuel", meaning "God is with us". Joseph was Mary's husband, so he took care of Jesus as his son. That is why we call Joseph the father of Jesus.
