The rest of the Book of Joshua is about the capture and and division of The Promised Land among the tribes of Israel. It also reports Joshua’s farewell speech and his popular saying “As for my family and me, we shall serve the Lord” (Joshua 24:15)

                    JUDGES

The Book of Judges reports the period of lsrael’s lawlessness between the entry into Canaan and Israel’s monarchy ( rule by kings). The judges were not lawyers but military heroes who were leaders.

DAY 74  DEBORAH, A STRONG WOMAN JUDGE

Bible Passage:  Judges 4:4-9, 5:7-9

Deborah was a God-fearing prophetess. A prophet or prophetess is someone who can tell what will happen in the future, or can interpret or is an inspired (supernatural) teacher. Even Barak, a man knowing that the power of God was on Deborah  refused to go and fight unless she went to the war front with him. Deborah trusted God, so of course, they won.

TODAY’S ACTION

Whom do you want to be like? Barak or Deborah? Pray that as you study God’s  Word (the Bible), you will get closer and closer to Him, so that you experience His power in your life.
