After the counting (cencus), Moses started worrying about where to find enough meat for the people. There were about six hundred thousand men (actually 603,550) according to Numbers 1:46. The people also did not give Moses peace of mind and he, forgetting how powerful God is, started complaining to God. Do you see how God supplied more than enough meat for them all? They were subsequently punished for grumbling and complaining. Do you remember what we read about grumbling and greed in the Book of Exodus?
