THE SEVENTH (7TH) DISASTER: HAIL**Bible passage*: Exodus 9: 13 - 26 Did you find out what hail or hailstones are yesterday? Imagine playing outside and suddenly, large, stony ice starts dropping. You would run in for shelter, until it is over. Some who were defiant did not think it would kill and stayed out but this was not the type of hail seen today. It was so terrible and the stones were so large that they killed all the people and animals out in the field, even before they could run inside for protection. It destroyed the plants, including big trees. It was the worst Egypt had ever seen in its history.
God even gave Pharaoh and the Egyptians the opportunity to save their slaves and animals but because of unbelief and stubbornness, they did not heed the warning. When your conscience, and that is the Holy Spirit in you, tells you that you are not doing the right thing "or" this is not how to behave" or "this is what you should do", those are your little hails! Take care to listen and do the right thing, so that they do not become big ones. God corrects us all the time through His Holy Spirit in us. We must learn to listen to His voice and take note of His correction.
TODAY'S ACTION
Think about some things that you did yesterday that the Spirit told you were wrong. If you have not asked for forgiveness or done the right thing, do so now, if possible or later today; Did you find out the meaning of giving a long a rope? Sometimes the rope is not very long. God is a wonderful, loving, and merciful father. He forgives us each time we repent of our wrong doings and ask for forgiveness. Isn't that great? It is such a blessing to belong to His family.
