When Jacob wanted to return home after more than fourteen years, he remembered all the wrong things that he had done to Esau and was afraid. He was sorry about what he had done and prayed to God so that his brother would not harm him. He prepared many presents to give Esau in order to make peace with him. It was during this journey that God changed Jacob’s name to Israel and blessed him. By the time he met Esau, God had blessed him and even Esau was very pleased to see him. By apologizing, Jacob made-up, that is, settled the quarrel between him and Esau.
No matter how long it has been since we offended a person, it is never too late to apologise and ask for forgiveness.
