Jesus taught by example and many times He used Himself as the example.  He washed His disciples feet to teach us that leaders or masters must not be proud.  Instead, they should do things to help their followers or workers or juniors.  If you are in the senior class, you should not treat your juniors cruelly.  You should not hurt them and make them unhappy.
