It is not good to think too highly of oneself.  Rather than feel important, we should allow others to give us respect.  Why go and sit at the high table when you have not been called there?  What a shame to be told to get up for someone else.

Also, Jesus is advising us to invite poor people to our parties.  Some people will not even allow them into their compound, not to talk of into their house.  They look down on the poor.  Well, did you learn anything from Jesus in today's passage?

TODAY'S ACTION

Pray that God will touch the hearts of people to provide for  the needs of poor children. You cannot invite a poor child to your home now because of COVID-19 pandemic but your prayer will go a long way!
