THE LORD’S PRAYER
Bible Passage Mat 6:5-15 (also in Luke 11:2-4)
When asked to pray, some people say they do not know how to. Prayer simply means “talking to God, our Father”. We can tell Him all about our problems. We can pray anywhere and at any time. We do not have to be in a special position but our hearts must be humble. Some have found kneeling down a good position to show respect and humbleness but it does not mean that if we do not kneel down, God will not hear us. Many also prefer and advise us to close our eyes. This is so that we will not see things that might take our minds off prayer. It is very good to learn the Lord’s prayer by heart. It talks of the basic things that we need to pray about.
