DAY 117 JOB COMFORTED BY HIS FRIENDS
Bible Passage Job 2:11-13, 4:5-6, 5:17-18, 8:3-7, 11:3-7 and 16:2
Job's friends , Eliphaz, Bildad, Zophar and Elihu had a lot of words of wisdom for Job
but these did not help him. Today's passages are just a few examples of the types of
things they said to him. Job replied each one of them and felt hat they were all "painful
comforters" (16:2). Anything painful is not good even though pain itself does a good
job as a sign to warn us that something is wrong. Instead of praising and worshipping
God with Job, they were proving their wisdom. When people are sad and we do not
know what to say, we should sing praises to God with them. They themselves may not
feel like singing but we can encourage them.

Praise God with a few choruses now and pray to thank Him for His goodness to you.
