King Sennacherib had put so much fear in other kings around because he had a large army and had defeated them whenever they fought. He did not know the Almighty God and His power because no one had proved it to him. In previous passages it was clear that even King Hezekiah was afraid but this time, he was wise to present the letter before God.
He was also lucky to have a God-fearing prophet like Isaiah who reassured him of God’s power.
God fought for His people And defeated the Assyrians. The boosts uk King Sennacherib was killed by his own sons. That is what happens to people who do not honour God and believe in other gods. We must trust God for EVERYTHING, telling Him our problems and having faith that He will help us as He has promised if we confess our sins and obey His Laws.
