THE CREATION: FORMATION OF THE WORLD  AND THINGS IN IT

Bible passage:              Genesis 1: 1 - 19

The name Genesis means "Origin" and the book tells first an account of how God created the World that in the beginning had no form and contained nothing. Everything was just DARK.

First day: God commanded - "Let there be light" and immediately, light appeared. God named the light "DAY" and the darkness "night". That is why from one morning to the next make one day of twenty-four hours.

Second day - God commanded "Let there be a dome to divide the water and keep it in two separate places" and it was done. He named the dome "SKY" and this separated the water above it from the one below. It is the water above that gives us rain and it is pure.

Third day - God created land and called it "Earth" and the water "Sea". Also he commanded the earth to produce all sorts of plants that day.

Fourth day - God created the sun, moon and stars. The earth was created before all the other bodies or planets in the sky.

The earth is the only planet known to have man and plants on it. Man has been to the moon but all the photographs taken show no man, animals or plants.

TODAY'S ACTION

Memorise the things created each day from day 1 to day 4.

Pray that God will continue to give us abundant rain so that our crops will grow and we will have enough food to eat.
