This book was written by John during the time that Christians faced a lot of problems. His letter was to encourage them to keep the faith until God, through Christ destroys all the work of satan.  He wrote many visions and used many symbols that are not common now.

Bible Passage: Revelations 1:1-11

John was not just writing a letter. He had a vision and he was told to write down what was being said. In a vision, one is not sleeping unlike when in a dream. Look at what the Lord said in verse 8. "I am the Alpha and the Omega. I am the one who is and was and is coming. I am the Almighty". This again reminds us of the fact that Jesus is coming back.

 TODAY'S ACTION

Pray that as the ruler of the kings of the earth (verse 5), Jesus will direct all the leaders of various countries of the world to do what is right.
