This second letter was written to correct some wrong teachings among Christians, especially concerning those who said that Christ will not return again.

You may have come in contact with people who do not believe that Christ will come again. If you have not, you may in future come across people like that. They try to prove things by science only, and forget the spiritual. Peter is reminding us again that what they say is false. They are used by the devil to deceive us. Only those close to God can resist them.
No one knows when Christ will come not even the angels. It may seem long, but who knows, it may be today!
