JESUS BEFORE PILATE
Bible Passage Mat. 27:11-26
Even with all their tricks, the priests and other leaders could not find anything against the law to accuse Jesus of. Caiaphas the High Priest sent Him to Pilate, the governor. Jesus was silent even as the people accused Him of different things before Pilate. Even Pilate could not find anything to punish Jesus for. He did not want to kill Jesus. The people however preferred that a very bad criminal, Barabbas be set free rather than Jesus. Their consciences must have been disturbed each time Jesus preached and they did not want to be corrected. Just like the prophets before Him, Jesus was not liked because He spoke the truth and the truth was bitter! Remember, those who correct us love us.
