Three times, exactly as Jesus said, before the cock crowed, Peter had denied knowing Jesus. He was so afraid of being arrested and probably killed with Jesus that he pretended not to know Him at all.  It is easy for us to say that Peter was a coward but think of yourself in the same type of situation.  Will you be willing to die?
