THE PREACHING OF JOHN THE BAPTIST
Bible Passage Mat 3:1-12 (also in Mark 1:1-8, Luke 3:1-18 and John 1:19-28)
Prophet Isaiah (Is 40:3) talked about a person shouting and warning the people in the desert. John the Baptist was the one the prophet spoke about many years before he was born. Many people, after hearing John confessed their sins and were baptized (dipped in water) by him. If you have read the passages before this one, you will by now know that you must confess your sins before God can forgive you. Baptism is a public show to say that we are sorry about our sins and do not want to sin again. It is still practiced by many Christians (for example Baptists) to show that they have accepted the Lord Jesus Christ into their lives as their Saviour.
TODAY'S ACTION
Confess any sin you remember now and ask God to forgive you.
